Wulingyuan Scenic Spot, situated in Wulingyuan
District of Zhangjiajie City in the northwest of Hunan province, includes Zhangjiajie
National Forest Park, Suoxiyu Natural reserve and Tianzi Mountain Natural Reserve.
Covering an area of 369 square km, Wulingyuan boasts its sandstones, forests of
peaks and canyons in their primitive ecological state. There are also numerous peculiar
peaks in their distinctive posture.
Apart from its natural beauty, Wulingyuan also has peaceful rustic scenery. It is
the home of several Chinese minority groups, such as Tujia, Miao, etc. The green
mountains and water here are dotted with terraces and houses. People dance and sing
during the minority groups festivals. All of the idyllic scenery blends with Wulingyuan
amazing landscape into a beautiful integrated picture.
Zhangjiajie
Zhangjiajie is the first national forest park in China. It has rich forest resources
and numerous species of plants. There are over 60 scenic attractions, such as Golden
Whip Stream, Yuanjiajie, etc.
Suoxiyu Scenic Spot
Suoxiyu Scenic Spot is the center and gateway of Wulingyuang. The three biggest
attractions include Ten Li Corridor, Baofeng Lake and Yellow Dragon Cave.
Tianzi Mountain Scenic Spot
Tianzi Mountain Scenic Spot has a sea of peaks and thousands of different scenes.
It is and ideal place to observe sandstone peaks. Imperial Brush Peak, Cloud Blue
Rock, Divine Hall Bay and Grand View Terrace are the places that offer the best
view.
